Last Tuesday, Night Shift Brewing opened their brewery to celebrate the launch of Ever Weisse, their delicious sour that has strawberry, kiwi and hibiscus. They have normal taproom hours, but this evening was special because attendees got first dibs on the Ever Weisse and Roxy’s Grilled Cheese was on hand to provide delicious grilled cheese sandwiches. And because the Night Shift Fellows are such great guys, 10% of the proceeds as well as all of the tips were donated to the One Fund, which was set up by Governor Duval and Mayor Menino to help those affected by the Boston Marathon bombings. I have exactly zero photos from this fun event because I left my camera at home, but I can assure you that it was tons of fun.
After the tragedy that happened just the day before, it was nice being able to get out and be around good people and drink good beer. We all shared our stories about where we were, and it felt good to be able to share that everyone we knew was okay. There were a lot of Drink Craft Beer volunteers there, which was really cool. I theorized to Sarah from DCB that it was probably because we all fell in love with the Ever Weisse from Springfest and wanted more.
Now that I know how easy it is to get to Night Shift (just a quick hop on the Orange Line to Sullivan and then a quick bus ride), I will definitely frequent them more often for mini-growlers!
